This is the so-called "Atlas" view of Marble. Below the map are tool buttons.
With the first tool button you can switch to the OpenStreetMap view. Now you
can zoom in. You can also use a tool button to switch to displaying thumbnails.
You can also activate overlays for navigation etc. The view with Google Maps
View is currently broken on Windows for various reasons.

Note: the map view also allows viewing GPX track files if they are in the
displayed images folder (last tool button in the bar).
