Bug ID: 470596 Summary: File names can leave artifacts when scrolling Classification: Applications Product: dolphin Version: 23.04.1 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: view-engine: icons mode Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: iodream...@gmail.com CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 159446 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=159446&action=edit video SUMMARY Sometimes in icon view, when there is a shortened multi-line filename and you try to scroll, if there is whitespace below the current text's position, Dolphin will leave overlapping leftover text without refreshing the view. I've attached a video demo but I am not too sure how to consistently reproduce this bug, except for the conditions as mentioned here. It seems to happen when the file has a long multi line name(at least 3 lines) and when the file extension is on its own 4th line. When the mouse leaves the file area and reenters it the view gets refreshed. I've attached a screenshot of the filenames without a bug for reference. It also doesn't seem to happen for filenames when the extension is not on the 4th line, as demonstrated in the video, which makes me question if the file extension is supposed to be on the 4th line at all. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have many files with long filenames, at least 3 lines long. The extension is on the 4th line. 2. Scroll the view in such a way that the filename location has whitespace underneath it 3. Observe the glitch OBSERVED RESULT The filename is rendered in a glitched way EXPECTED RESULT No glitching occurs Operating System: Fedora Linux 38 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.106.0 Qt Version: 5.15.9 Kernel Version: 6.3.4-201.fc38.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
