Bug ID: 470389 Summary: Accents are not shown before pressing a letter that can be accented Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 5.27.4 Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: esperluett...@proton.me CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 159306 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=159306&action=edit Accent "preview" in Firefox SUMMARY When accent keys ("^", "¨", etc.) are pressed, the accent is not displayed (for ex. underlined like in Firefox, see screenshot) in KDE apps (Dolphin (search and rename), Settings (search), Kate, etc.). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Kickoff 2. Press any character key 3. Press (once) an accent key OBSERVED RESULT The first character is display, not followed by the accent. Also, pressing the accent then any character that cannot be accented dismisses the accent. EXPECTED RESULT The accent should always displayed, underlined (or with a coloured background) if pressed one, as a character if pressed twice ("^", "¨"), or as accented character with a "compatible" character pressed after (ex. "â", "ü"), or before a not "compatible" character ("^p", "¨3") SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Neon Live (20230504-0714) (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.105.0 Qt Version: 5.15.9 Tested in Wayland Tested with a Azerty keyboard (and a matching keyboard layout configured) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
