This has been going on for a long time now, even on v8.0.0 and v8.1.0 as of today. My video files are recorded from my phone, which is a Google Pixel 7 Pro (2022). The video file format is an MP4 file encoded with the HEVC codec and AAC LC audio. It is very frustrating to be unable to preview my videos without opening them manually using VLC, which plays the video perfectly.
