Lets try to focus on the bug itself that prompted this workaround, and not any
bugs stemming from the use of the workaround. :) The bug is:

Let's refocus on that. Do you by any chance have an NVIDIA GPU, and does this
happen after you wake the computer or a monitor from sleep?
