Or go to /usr/share/fonts/ and open a subfolder with font files. 3. make sure "Show tooltips" option is enabled in "General" section of Dolphin settings 4. hover over fonts Result: font preview in dark on dark color in the tooltip and in the files view, as we can see in the screenshot attached to this comment.
