When I originally installed marble with opensuse YaST, the marble version was used, NOT the marble-qt front end; this is the situation with crashes. Later, I noticed that there was a marble-qt version which I then installed with YaST; this fixed the crash upon exit. In case you don't have the information, I am using KDE plasma Version 5.24.4 and KDE Frameworks Version 5.90.0.
