STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select a .txt (or .csv, .pdf, etc) file in a panel
2. Press F3 to view contents or F4 to edit

OBSERVED RESULT
1.  Error message appears
2.  Closing error message allows file to open for viewing or editing

EXPECTED RESULT
File should open with no error message.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Deleting the shortcut <Esc> from either of the conflicts does not solve the
