Bug ID: 467630 Summary: Graphical glitching with quick tiling and wobbly windows Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.27.3 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Quick Tiling Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: treesh...@mailbox.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 157474 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=157474&action=edit quick tiled wobbly window SUMMARY When mouse dragging a window that has been quarter/quick tiled the window quickly snaps to the position it had before being tiled and then snaps back to the position of the cursor, creating a fluttering movement. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have the wobbly windows desktop effect and quarter tiling on screen edges enabled. 2. Open any kind of window, e.g. Konsole. 3. Position the window free floating somewhere far away from a screen corner. 4. Drag the window to a corner with the mouse, thereby quarter tiling it. 5. Drag the window from the corner with the mouse. OBSERVED RESULT When leaving the corner the window quickly snaps to the position it had before being tiled and then snaps back to the position of the cursor. EXPECTED RESULT The window doesn't snap or leaves the cursor, the window moves smoothly from the corner along with the cursor. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is reproducible most of the time but not 100%. Tested on X11/Wayland with Arch/OpenSUSE. The effect becomes more visible and maybe more frequent by increasing the distance from the original window position to the corner tile. Attached video shows problem.
