1, That would mean an OS version upgrade (Ubuntu 22.04 is stuck on 5.24.7, I
already looked into this), which I strongly hesitate to do during the semester
when I can't afford any downtime... so, OK, nothing can be done now. But... 2,
it was working, and then something changed, and it doesn't work. If 5.24.7 is
no longer supported, why are regression bugs being pushed out through the
packages? Should be stable, right?

With that said, I know nothing is going to be done, so I'll leave it closed and
I won't argue back beyond this. But, "no longer eligible for support" and
"you're getting updates which may or may not be OK" are two propositions which,
on the surface, don't exactly go together.
