Dang. I figured out the problem. My audio settings were messed up. As soon
as I changed my playback devices kdenlive "un-froze".
Seems every time I login I have to re-set the audio settings.
Even YouTube on FireFox hangs when trying to play a video if the audio settings
are messed up.
