--- Comment #1 from Felix Ernst <felixer...@kde.org> --- >On a keyboard it's more or less worthless The Ctrl+Arrow keys and Ctrl+Space keyboard shortcuts aren't that discoverable so having another more guided approach for multi-select helps the average user. Also see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458091, which is about making selection mode more useful for keyboard users. >with a mouse, ctrl/shift + left click and right click for actions works fine. Absolutely, but again: Ctrl/Shift+click isn't that discoverable. Many users don't know about it, or aren't even used to using the keyboard and mouse together for "shortcuts". I noticed that without selection mode, some users weren't able to select multiple files unless they fit into a "selection rectangle" i.e. the thing that shows up when one draws a rectangle in the view area. Similarly, we have a rule in KDE not to expect users to be aware of right-click functionality because it is a somewhat hidden way to interact with the system by design. >triggering selection mode exclusively by accident Which keyboard shortcut are you triggering by accident? Mostly the Space key shortcut or others as well? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
