I'd like to close out the bug. I think that Lazy Nezumi Pro (a separate program) is the culprit, and was hiding the cursor if I put the PC to sleep and woke it up with both Krita and LN still running. I was able to duplicate this effect, and haven't had this happen with only Krita running by itself.
