I can confirm this; I am also using Wayland and most recent Plasma (5.7.95).
This is only application with such weird behavior.
However, dozen of other applications don't show icon too (but they do show
title). Several examples are: Chromium, Skype, Inkscape, Gimp, Firefox, LyX
(Qt4), Okular.
Several examples of applications that work correctly are: Dolphin, Gwenview,
Konsole.
