Bug ID: 463326 Summary: Cannot maximize windows when pushing them up against the top edge of the screen on 2nd monitor. Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.25.5 Platform: Kubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: multi-screen Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: pepaltavi...@yahoo.co.uk Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** While I can maximize a window by pushing it up against the top edge of the screen on the primary monitor, I cannot do the same on the 2nd monitor. However I can maximize the windows on the second monitor using the maximize button in the title bar. *** I have a dual monitor setup with the taskbar panel on the top of the primary monitor and no panels on the secondary monitor. The desktop is not mirrored across the monitors, instead each monitor desktop is independent of the other. I am not using any plasma window effects like wiggle, etc. When I push the window up against the top edge of the 2nd monitor screen, it's like there is no hard stop at the top of the monitor canvass. Instead the canvass extends past the top bounds of the monitor and has no hard edge, so the windows slip beyond the top of the monitor in to non desktop space. I can move my mouse about in the non desktop space beyond the top edge of the screen to pull the top of the window back down into the workspace so I can then maximize the window using the maximize button in the window's title bar, which works as expected. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open window on primary monitor. 2. Drag to secondary monitor. 3. Throw/push the window up against the top edge of the monitor. OBSERVED RESULT Window slides beyond the top of the monitor into non desktop space. EXPECTED RESULT Window maximizes.
