Bug ID: 462873 Summary: Focus stays in Find dialogue after opening Annotation toolbar so activating an annotation tool via keyboard fails Classification: Applications Product: okular Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org Reporter: pter...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 154488 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=154488&action=edit screencast SUMMARY This is a very frequent work scenario: One searches for a text in a long PDF and wants to add an annotation. However, working with keyboard shortcuts here leads to this confusing situation. The focus glues to the find field when opening the Annotations toolbar and trying to activate a particular annotation tool by clicking one of the numbers 1-9 assigned to different tools. As a result one no longer finds the text pattern one searches for nor does one gets the tool activated, leading to unexpected mouse action. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open PDF file. 2. Ctrl+F to open Find dialogue, then enter some text. 3. Use keyboard shortcut to open the Annotations toolbar. 4. Click 1–9 intending to select one of the Quick Annotation Tools. OBSERVED RESULT 1. The focus is still in the Find field so that the text '1', '9', etc. is added to the text searched, breaking the text searched for. 2. No Annotation tool is activated. EXPECTED RESULT 1. The focus moves from the Find dialogue to the Annotation toolbar. 2. The appropriate Annotation Tool is activated.
