Bug ID: 461653 Summary: kmail doesn't send when running over ssh Classification: Applications Product: kmail2 Version: 5.19.3 Platform: OpenSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: bug...@top.geek.nz Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When starting kmail over ssh on a remote host, kmail doesn't send any mail, it asks for the transport password instead. This is at least when there still is a local KDE desktop session running on the remote host, even when kmail and akonadi are not running. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Log into host A, KDE desktop session. 2. Start kmail. 3. Quit kmail, stop akonadi. 4. Log into host B, KDE desktop session. 5. ssh from B to A. 6. Start kmail on A, compose mail, send. 6b. pkill kwallet; Start kmail on A, compose mail, send (no difference; kmail may or may not ask for the wallet password, but even if it does, it still asks for the transport password when sending). OBSERVED RESULT kmail asks for the password for the mailtransport. EXPECTED RESULT Mail is sent without more pop-ups, the mailtransport password is already saved in the wallet. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS kmail Version 5.19.3 (21.12.3) openSUSE Leap 15.4 kded-5.90.0-150400.1.4.x86_64 Qt Version: Name : libQt5Core5 Version : 5.15.2+kde294 Release : 150400.6.3.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This used to work fine on openSUSE 12.3, kmail 4.10.5; kmail didn't even have to be quit, only akonadi had to be stopped. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
