Bug ID: 459850 Summary: Trigger notification on login if calendar event occurred while logged out Classification: Applications Product: kalendar Version: 22.08.1 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: claudio.cam...@gmail.com Reporter: td21rz...@mozmail.com CC: c...@carlschwan.eu Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY If a calendar event occurs while the computer is off, or the user is logged off, trigger a notification when the user signs in. Could be a check that happens on sign-in, and optional for anyone worried about performance or just rather wouldn't want this. When I put birthdays on my calendar, I set them to happen all day on those days, and remind me "On event start", i.e. 00:00 I try to be asleep by that time, so my computer is naturally turned off :) Therefore it'd be nice to be reminded as soon as I get to work in the morning on my computer. Of course, this could benefit more use cases than just birthdays. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Make an event in Kalendar 2. Set it to notify you on event start 3. Log out before midnight, and log back in after OBSERVED RESULT There is no visual reminder that the event started while the user was signed out. EXPECTED RESULT A system tray notification that something happened while signed out.
