--- Comment #7 from avlas <jsar...@gmail.com> --- It's several years since I reported this bug and perhaps we are just a few interested in this, so I wonder if the issue is that devs are busy implementing new features and fixing other more important bugs than this (my appreciation from here for your effort!), or whether the problem (of sorting, so the newest emails in a thread appear at top) is due to some technical difficulty from how threads are implemented in kmail.
