I accidentally submitted before I finished. Apologies.
To reproduce the issue:
1. Copy the attached text into a file at ~/.config/kioslaverc
2. Reboot
I have confirmed that this faulty file is the cause of the issue, as removing
it and only it stops the issue from happening.
