The error thrown by kate

SUMMARY
Kate throws that error message (twice) every time it's opened. The program then
works correctly.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Kate (through command line, kde application launcher or dolphin)

OBSERVED RESULT
Kate throws the error message "The specified folder does not exist or was not
readable." twice before opening up.
The line 'kf.kio.widgets.kdirmodel: protocol mismatch: "" vs "file"' appears in
the terminal when launched through a command.

EXPECTED RESULT
Kate opens normally
