You don't need this patch to run a 3rd-party Secret Service provider. This only applies to when Secret Service is provided by KWallet, and only if combined with a GPG wallet. To run a 3rd-party Secret Service provider, you need the patch from Bug 458069, and then disable the KWallet Secret Service integration in the KWallet settings.
