            Bug ID: 368210
Summary: New monitor isn't detected correctly, and task bar
                    disappears after disconnecting it
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 5.5.5
          Platform: Kubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Multi-screen support
          Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
          Reporter: ddascalescu+...@gmail.com
                CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

I have a Dell E7450 laptop, connected via HDMI to a NEC monitor. This monitor
is detected correctly in Display Configuration, and I made it the primary
monitor, and moved the task bar to the bottom of that screen.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Disconnect NEC monitor
2. Connect instead Philips TV via the same HDMI cable
3. Open Display Configuration

Actual Results:
The NEC monitor still shows up as the connected monitor.

After disconnecting the TV, and using only the laptop, the task bar is
completely gone (I mean the horizontal strip including the K logo, the task bar
and the system tray panels).

Windows that were maximized on the TV screen are no off-screen.

In this situation, Mint Cinnamon, Unity, and Windows 7 would bring the task bar
onto the only display available. Some of these OSes would also reposition
windows so they're at least partially visible.
