Bug ID: 458085 Summary: Wallet system takes about 1 minute to start Product: frameworks-kwallet Version: 5.97.0 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: va...@kde.org Reporter: nic.chris...@gmail.com CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When an application requires access to a wallet for the first time, it takes about 50 seconds for the dialog asking for your password to appear. This behavior has been observed by several people (see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=278939) and seems to be new with kwallet 5.97.0. Downgrading kwallet to 5.96.0-1 fixes the problem STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start a fresh new KDE session 2. Right after login in, start an application that requires access to a wallet (for example Chromium) OBSERVED RESULT The dialog asking for you wallet's password appears after a long delay of about 50 seconds. In particular, when Chromium is used for the test: - The Chromium window will take a long time to appear - Chromium will timeout waiting for the wallet and start with a blank session (no cookies or local storage) EXPECTED RESULT The dialog should appear right away.
