Bug ID: 457492 Summary: Too large padding in the present-windows effect causes window thumbnails to be small Product: kwin Version: 5.25.3 Platform: Debian testing OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: effects-present-windows Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: a...@laxu.de Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 151117 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=151117&action=edit Screenshot of the "show windows" effect with three Firefox windows SUMMARY In reworked version of the present windows effect, the thumbnails got quite a bit smaller as there is more padding. Some is probably due to the titles being below the windows instead of over the windows as before, some seems not necessary at all. As result, the contents of windows are harder to recognize than before and some details that were visible before (e.g. underlined elements) aren't recognizable anymore. Attached is a screenshot of the natural layout with three windows, but the "closest" layout makes it even easier to see how there is much padding between the windows in the grid. The best option would probably to add a "natural (tight)" layout, which reduces the padding and preserve the other layout as they are.
