Sorry for the late reply.
It's probably not related to the GPU -- there must have been some timing issue
that doesn't give the fill layer the chance to render before the projection is
written out to the PNG image. We did fix some related issues with that this
year, and I think it cannot happen anymore. At least, I cannot reproduce it at
all anymore on fast or slow systems.
