Just found this bug report after looking for bugs related to long animation
durations when switching activities since 5.25. The animation duration of the
slide effect seems to be used when switching activities, which is painfully
slow. Changing the global animation speed doesn't do anything, but disabling
the slide effect does.
The slide effect seems to hardcode animation times:
