Neon intentionally disabled showing the distro-packaged versions of these apps
in Discover because it wantss you to get them from Snap or Flatpak instead. If
you don't like this, then Neon is probably the wrong distro for you, as I find
it's best to avoid fighting your distro's packaging decisions.
Can you search for "GIMP" and attach a screenshot of what you see in the search
results?
