            Bug ID: 453811
Summary: Ability to define search engine search URL with no
                    sanitization of queries
           Product: krunner
           Version: 5.24.5
          Platform: Other
                OS: Other
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: webshortcuts
          Assignee: alexander.loh...@gmx.de
          Reporter: kishor...@gmail.com
                CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Currently, it looks like the runner does some sanitization of the query string
before substituting it into the URL that the user has configured for a
particular search engine (e.g. it converts / to %2F). This happens with both
the \{0} and \{@} placeholders.

Would it be possible to have another kind of placeholder that inserts the
literal query without such sanitization? The sanitization breaks some search
engines (e.g. one would like to search on some academic search engines using a
DOI which usually contains slashes, such as '10.1017/jfm.2020.598')

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Kernel Version: 5.17.7-arch1-1 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
