Even starters in the panel don't highlight if you hover over them. Also tap two fingers on the touchpad does nothing. Luckily the machine still listens to the keyboard so Ctrl-Alt-Del triggers the log-out screen. This still happens with export KWIN_COMPOSE=O2ES on but MUCH less frequent. Also "tap-to-click" really never crashes when I touch the touch sensitive screen around the "home" button when using export KWIN_COMPOSE=O2ES. And that is a big difference.
