You can still manage two views independently and use tabs independently: create two Konsole windows, and open tabs on them. I doubt tue old style will get back, but we can work with compromises: a way to mirror tabs, I won’t implement it as I find a waste of my time. If you have time to implement this, I can help you start and review the code.
