Bug ID: 453200 Summary: custom hotkeys cause a crash (not a fullt system one) Product: systemsettings Version: 5.24.4 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: kcm_khotkeys Assignee: k...@michael-jansen.biz Reporter: matej.sta...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I am using plasma with Wayland and I found out that custom hotkeys for keyboard input cause a minor crash and do not work. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to “Custom shortcuts” in system settings 2. Right Click (on folder or specified place on the left) → New → Global Shortcut → Send Keyboard Input 3. Set your trigger hotkey 4. Set your action (what you want it to write). I wanted it to write grave accent character (ASCII=96). 5. Press your hotkey combination and wait for the notification and observe the system tray. OBSERVED RESULT Doesn't write word/character, 3rd party apps in system tray disappear and reappear, and sometimes you get a crash report dialog. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 Kernel Version: 5.17.5-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 12 × Intel® Core™ i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20GHz Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 480 Graphics -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
