I filled a follow-up bug based on my comment 240. It proposes a solutio to deal
with the situation that icons still get scrambled when a new previously unseen
resolution is used and that moving an icon is not carried over changes between
known resolutions: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453141
