Not OP but just rant into the same bug.
I guess the screenshot was created by just using a template title.
(Personally I used this tutorial to achieve this:
https://docs.kdenlive.org/en/effects_and_compositions/titles.html#template-titles-user-defined)
As soon as you press "enter" when using the template to create a linebreak the
observed effect happens. (The shadow gets "forgotten" in the new line, despite
being in the same textbox)
