Bug ID: 452413 Summary: Terminal pane: control codes use command key Product: kate Version: 21.12.2 Platform: macOS (DMG) OS: macOS Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: fisher521...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When I use Kate's terminal and tried to use some control codes (e.g. ^C, ^D), I noticed they didn't work. It turns out, to send control codes, I need to use the command key (⌘) instead (e.g. ⌘C, ⌘D). This is rather unintuitive, because on macOS, I'm used to pressing the actual control key to send control codes. Furthermore, this means that I can't copy using the familiar shortcut ⌘C, I need to right click and click the copy button. I suggest reverting this and sending control/command normally, without translation. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Kate on macOS 2. Try to send SIGTERM by pressing CTRL+C OBSERVED RESULT Nothing happens EXPECTED RESULT ^C is sent to the terminal SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS macOS: 11.6 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
