Bug ID: 452349 Summary: focus policy inconsistencies Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: multi-screen Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: b...@whitleymott.net CC: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org, n...@kde.org Depends on: 451283 Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 148009 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=148009&action=edit "About this System" SUMMARY in similar circumstances, sometimes focus is given to the window under the mouse, and sometimes it stays with the window just manipulated. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Focus policy: focus follows mouse, mouse precedence, extreme focus stealing prevention, no boxes checked under 'Resizing windows' or 'Multiscreen behavior'. OBSERVED RESULT in this case focus is given to window B which is now under the mouse: 1. after sending window A to another screen, if the mouse was over window A before sending. in these cases focus stays with the window just maniuplated, regardless that the mouse is now over another window: 2. restore a maximized window 3. restore a fullscreen window 4. send a window to another screen, if the mouse is just off the edge of the focused window and showing the resize cursor EXPECTED RESULT i would expect the result to be the same for all 4 cases. my settings, and indeed my preference, is for focus always under the mouse. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION occasionally for case number 1 above focus stays with the window just manipulated, haven't yet learned how to reprocuce it tho.
