From the screenshot you attached, I see that you are using MX Linux, presumably based on Debian 10 (buster). If it is possible for you, I suggest that you try the latest release (version 3.1.2) for Debian 10 provided here: https://software.opensuse.org//download.html?project=home%3Aareinholdt&package=smb4k. With the new version, the error message should disappear.
