SUMMARY
If a notification is on-screen or later appears on-screen and a rectangle
select is activated, the notification will overlay without going behind the
darkened background.
A good way to test is `notify-send test` and then activating a rectangle
select. You can also see this by doing `sleep 3; notify-send test`, then
activating a rectangle select and then waiting for the notification to appear
above the darkened area.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. `notify-send test`
2. Activate rectangle select
3. Notification appears above rectangle area.
OBSERVED RESULT
Notification appears above the rectangle screenshot area, whether it was there
before or after activating the rectangle select. If the rectangle select is
activated *before* the notification appears, and then the notification appears
over it, then the notification will *not* be included in the screenshot.
Taking a screenshot when a notification appears, the screenshot will capture
the notification as it was when the rectangle select was activated. That is,
say the notification timeout circle around the close button is 1/4 of the way
down when the rectangle screenshot is initiated. The region the screenshot is
in is selected for a screenshot. And then at the time of capture, once the user
presses enter, the overlayed notification timeout circle is 3/4 of the way
down. The resulting screenshot will show the notification with 1/4 of its
timeout, as it was when the rectangle screenshot was activated.
That is all to say, the notification will display over the rectangle select
area, but the actual resulting screenshot will correctly capture the "frozen"
desktop as it was when the effect is activated. The notification simply appears
and is still active when over the selection area when it shouldn't be.
EXPECTED RESULT
The notification does not stay active or above the rectangle screenshot area.
