Bug ID: 451485 Summary: Hibernate button in log out dialogue does nothing. Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Lock/logout Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: broes2...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 147490 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=147490&action=edit Screenshot of log out dialogue. SUMMARY *** When I press the power button on my laptop I am showed what systemsettings call the "log out dialogue", which has five buttons, one of them labeled "Hibernate" does nothing when I press it. All of the buttons work (Shut down, Log out, Restart and Sleep), except the Hibernate button. I have set up a swap file and all the other stuff needed to get a computer to wake from hibernation when turned back on. I know that I have set it all up correctly because when I type "systemctl hibernate" into a terminal emulator/TTY, press the hibernate button in the application dashboard or even wait for my laptop to reach a critical battery charge my laptop goes into hibernation. When I turn my laptop back on it goes into the same state as to when it was hibernated. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Make sure you have a swapfile or partition set up correctly. 2. Press the power button on your laptop/computer. 3. Press/Click the "Hibernate" button in the log out dialogue that appeared after power button was pressed. OBSERVED RESULT Nothing happens! EXPECTED RESULT Laptop goes into hibernation.
