i got absolutely no text nor any user-visible message.
i suspect it is lack of japanese fonts, but the program gives me nothing to
work with.
everything else on the document rendered fine. and the contents section on the
left does show the section titles in japanese just fine, so my system do have
at least one japanse font (i know i have several...)
