An update: a patch has been added to the Google groupware that disables
contacts, allowing other functionality such as calendars to continue working.
Still working on a proper fix for contacts, but this should resolve this issue
at the very least.
Patch is now live on Tumbleweed and Arch, should be coming to other
distributions soon
