I was able to identify the error systematically:
My working directory is in the "Schreibtisch" directory, but Plasma uses a
directory called "Desktop", which is a symbolic link to "Schreibtisch". If I
let Plasma point to "Desktop", it does not update, but with "Schreibtisch" it
works immediately.
