I found this bug looking for similar problems to my own, but thought I'd
comment.
You shouldn't need either the Bluetooth connection nor the USB connection.
Simply being connected to the same router/wifi network is sufficient. I don't
have this issue on Fedora Silverblue 35 (w/GSConnect) and my Pixel 6. Seems to
work as intended. Could be an issue with the way you are connecting or with
the Windows version of KDEConnect. Sorry can't help any more than that! Good
