If it helps I can confirm comment #118, I'm currently running Plasma 5.24.1. It
seems that this issue has shown up with the 5.24 upgrade, before this it worked
fine.
One easier way to reproduce this from me:
1) Set computer not to sleep when lid is closed.
2) Close lid, the laptop display is turned of.
3) At this point the desktop layout(?) panel and everything moves to the
secondary display and the layout of the secondary display goes away.
4) Open the lid back, the laptop display is turned on
5) The layout moves back to the laptop display but the secondary display is now
blank.
6) Plug the secondary display out and plug it back in and everything is back to
normal.
