Bug ID: 450464 Summary: Crash of plasma, unable to login to graphical session with error `The current theme cannot be loaded` Product: plasmashell Version: 5.24.1 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: Theme - Breeze Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: benjireig...@gmail.com CC: visual-des...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY So, I updated my packages yesterday (like I do everyday) and suddenly I had issues with KDE, I was not able to open the settings window for example and shortcuts to launch applications didn't work. So I tried rebooting and now I'm in front of the default login screen (instead of the one I did setup a while back and had yesterday morning). And there is the following message in red: The current theme cannot be loaded due to the errors below, please select another theme. file:///usr/share/sddm/theme/breeze/Main.qml:14:1 plugin cannot be loaded for module "org.kde.plasma.core": Cannot load library /usr/lib/qt/qml/org/kde/plasma/core/libcorebindingsplugin.so: (/usr/lib/libKF5KIOCore.so.5: undefined symbol: _ZN8KLibExec14pathCandidatesERK7QString) Also, when I try to log in, it brings me back to the login screen and the way it does bring me back seems like a crash. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Update plasma to the latest version (5.24.1 at the moment of writting) on archlinux 2. Reboot 3. You should be prompted with the same error message OBSERVED RESULT An error on the login screen and missing custom configuration. As well as a crash on login. EXPECTED RESULT The standard login screen with the user defined configuration. No crash on login SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.24.1 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
