Thanks for this feedback, I do appreciate it. The New Entry button in the
editor is intended to facility the workflow when adding multiple new entries
sequentially. I happen to do that occasionally so I like the button there :).
If you'd like a button on the toolbar that directly adds a new entry, you can
use the Settings->Configure Toolbars to add the "New Entry" command wherever
you like.

Having the New Entry be a submenu option under Add Entry was chosen
specifically to avoid user confusion over a number of years.
