missing icon

SUMMARY
I have file ~/.local/share/appliactions/syncthing.desktop which uses custom svg
icon

When I create symlink to Desktop folder, it doesn't show icon. I have another
application that uses custom png for icon and that symlink shows icon. I'm
using Folder View.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create user .desktop file with svg icon 
2. Create symlink to desktop

OBSERVED RESULT
No icon is shown.

EXPECTED RESULT
Icon should be shown.
