Three observations I have made: the Kate menu bar has ~1.5x more padding than the TeXstudio bar, with 1.5 being precisely my high DPI scale factor. Secondly, it has been a while, but I am 99.9% sure that with a scale factor of 1x that all four applications render the same. Thirdly, both Digikam and TeXstudio are notable as apps as they both present a configuration option in their settings to change the theme. Is there any way to misuse the style API which could potentially cause some scaling info to go missing?
