Some new insights on this one, perhaps for future generations of Plasma
developers:
The hangs on my system(s) are absolutely reproduceable and occur
- when "Ding" (tcl/tk; process "wish") is running
- only when logging out, not when restarting
- only when the window containing "Ding" (tcl/tk) is minimized or not minimized
but not on the current (virtual) desktop
- and - as said before - only in Plasma >= 5.19.
