Please check the output of the following command:
qtpaths --install-prefix
On my system this is /usr
Please check the install_manifest.txt file in the build folder which should
have something like the following:
/usr/share/kxmlgui5/kxstitch/kxstitchui.rc
where /usr will be replaced by the output from qtpaths.
Check that the file exists in the folder specified.
I have just tried the steps you specified and KXStitch starts correctly for me.
Ignore the warning about the layout.
